February 2024 Writing Contest

 

New for 2024, we’re bringing back the Scribbler subscriber writing contest. Each month we’ll provide a short story prompt and give our box and slim subscribers a chance to write their way to fantastic prizes! Best part - as a subscriber, it’s FREE to enter.

The Prompt:

The Matchmaking Bookstore: In a quaint bookstore, the owner plays matchmaker by leaving anonymous notes inside books that lead customers to one another. Write about a couple brought together by the mysterious workings of the bookstore.

The Prize:

 

The winner will receive a brand new set of AirPods (3rd Generation). Enjoy your favorite tunes as you bang away at that keyboard. The winning entry will also be published in its entirety on the Scribbler Blog along with a short feature on the author.

The runner-up will receive a $25 Scribbler gift card and will also have their entry featured on the Scribbler Blog.

Formatting and Submitting Your Entry:

Submissions must be 1,000 words or less, double-spaced, and in 12 pt. Times New Roman. Your entry should be sent in .doc, .docx, or .rtf format to contests@goscribbler.com. Entries must be received by 3/15. Winners will be announced on 3/27.
