To get into the Halloween mood, we decided to include a vampire book this month. Not the Twilight-style brooding/sexy vampire type. More the Anne Rice blood-thirsty vampire type. Our featured author this month counts the aforementioned Anne Rice as one of his creative inspirations. His novel, The Court of Shadows, takes place in an alternate universe where Louis
XIV discovered vampirism and never left the throne - such a unique and interesting premise. This book is the first in Victor's Vampyria series, originally published in French and available for the first time in English translation. It's a page turner! He was also kind enough to sit down with us to talk about his writing process, which we included in this month's Writing Passport. And we're back with a double-dose PPIL with Victor and award-winning YA author, Matt Mendez. All that and some wonderful writerly gifts (as always).
