September 2023 Box
Oscar Hokeah
Capturing the Elusive
Oscar Hokeah’s debut novel, Calling for a Blanket Dance, is stacking up the awards - it won the PEN America/Hemingway Award for a Debut Novel and was a finalist for the L.A. Times Book Prize and Art Seidenbaum Award for First Fiction. For good reason. It’s an incredibly powerful, unique piece of storytelling. We’re really excited to have it as part of this month’s box - a fitting follow-up to last month’s superstar effort. Mr. Hokeah was also kind enough to write an exclusive essay on finding your voice. Great stuff! To round it out we have some wonderful artifacts from author Sara Raasch’s upcoming novel, Night of the Witch, which she collaborated on with Beth Revis (of March box fame). Oh, and as usual, some amazing gifts for our full box subscribers.
